ASSISTANT PASTRY CHEF
Stonebridge Country Club, a private country club in west Boca Raton, is seeking for a creative and talented Pastry Cook, reporting to our Executive Pastry Chef.
Responsibilities:
Working cooperatively with others in a fast-paced environment
Preparing, decorating and plating desserts which are pleasing to both the eye & palate
Preparing baked goods
Displaying prepared items in an aesthetically pleasing fashion
Ensuring station or area is sanitary and fully functional
Appropriately labeling & storing product at the end of each shift according to food safety standards
Using equipment & tools in a safe manner according to manufacturer recommendations
Requirements:
At least two years in a comparable commercial kitchen performing similar work
Current food safety certification
Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to read and execute recipes, and understand instructions from the supervisor
Able to work in varying temperatures, ranging from cold in the freezers to the heat of the kitchen
Able to stand for the entire shift, and able to bend, twist, crouch, and reach in the performance of the job
Able to routinely lift 50 lbs. without assistance
Able to work cooperatively with all members of the staff to achieve common objectives
Able to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug test
Able to work both day or evening shifts, and must be available to work weekends and holidays on a regular basis
