Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead and manage the financial operations for our healthcare client in Florence, South Carolina. This role is critical in ensuring accurate accounting practices, financial reporting, and compliance while driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospital accounting and leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and direct the hospital’s accounting system and financial operations, including billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.

• Prepare and present monthly and annual financial reviews, budgets, and required state financial reports.

• Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency in collaboration with hospital leadership and corporate teams.

• Participate in hospital Governing Body committees and partnership boards to contribute to organizational decision-making.

• Monitor compliance with Medicare regulations and ensure adherence to industry standards.

• Coordinate internal controls and audits to maintain accuracy and reliability in financial processes.

• Provide financial forecasting and budgeting support to align with organizational goals.

• Celebrate team achievements and foster a positive work environment.

• Assist in ensuring the hospital meets its financial and operational objectives effectively.• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Management with a major in Accounting; a CPA certification is preferred.

• Minimum of five years of hospital accounting experience, with expertise in financial management and analysis.

• Two to three years of experience in public accounting, specifically in healthcare auditing and reimbursement.

• One to three years of experience as a hospital Chief Financial Officer is preferred.

• Proficiency in accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end close processes.

• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and auditing practices.

• Familiarity with Oracle systems and other financial management tools.

• Availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as required.
