Olympic Petroleum in Stickney, IL is looking for a proactive Shipping & Receiving Lead to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the smooth handling of inbound and outbound shipments with accuracy and timeliness. $20 - $22 hourlyResponsibilities:
Maintain an accurate inventory of finished goods on a daily basis and be responsible for monthly inventory records.
Move finished goods from the staging area to the finished goods inventory or shipment area.
Route all freight shipments using the appropriate carriers and accurately complete all related documents to ensure timely arrival at the proper
Prepare orders for shipment and complete process documents.
Select the appropriate carrier and ensure that the freight will be released for shipping in a timely manner.
Notify the carrier for shipment pick-up.
Maintain all records involving shipping.
Process all goods received according to established procedures. For example, quality, count, and weighing goods, comparing packing slips and bills of lading with purchase orders, etc.
Process-related records and reports.
Investigate and resolve problems concerning freight loss, partial shipment, etc., and maintain effective and cooperative communications with the outside.
Maintain shipping equipment and inventory of supplies in a clean and orderly manner.
Assume full responsibility for the daily maintenance of lift trucks and hand trucks.
Maintain at all times a clean and safe working environment.
Report to the Warehouse Supervisor any safety hazards or usual mechanical or electrical occurrences.
Responsible for their own personal safety, job performance, and the safety of others.
Any other assignments at the direction of the shift supervisor.Qualifications:
