About the Role

You will be responsible for programming work across a wide range of game content, including mobile apps, console games, and PC games. Depending on your skills and experience, you will be assigned specific tasks within the following areas:

Main Responsibilities:

In-game programming (AI design and implementation, character control, effects, etc.)

Out-game programming (UI implementation, screen transitions, synthesis/evolution screens, etc.)

API implementation

Development environment setup and maintenance

Game engine development

Plugin development

Coordination with external teams or internal departments

Other related programming tasks

Note: You will not be expected to handle all tasks above. Specific responsibilities will be assigned based on your background and suitability.

Position Details

Job Title: Game Programmer (Development & Operations)

Salary: ¥3,600,000 – ¥10,000,000 annually

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary Review: Once a year (June)

Bonuses: Twice a year (July and December)

Bonuses apply to full-time employees only, not contract staff.

Trial Period: 6 months (same conditions as full employment)

Working Hours

Standard hours (at headquarters): 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM

Lunch break: 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM (8 hours actual work)

May vary depending on assigned project (e.g., 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM with 1-hour break)

Average overtime: 10.9 hours/month (varies by project site)

Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications:

24+ months of game development experience

At least one project of 6+ months duration

12+ months of hands-on in-game development

Must be the primary in-game role within the last 2 years

24+ months of programming (coding) experience

24+ months of C++ development experience

12+ months of practical experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5

24+ months experience developing games for any of the following: smartphone, console, arcade, or PC

18+ months of experience working at a Japanese company

Japanese language skills at a business level (reading, writing, speaking)

Preferred Skills:

Experience developing iOS or Android apps
