Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Junior IT Infrastructure & Network Specialist to join our growing IT team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about IT infrastructure and network management, with an eagerness to develop their skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Junior Specialist will assist in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing our company's IT infrastructure and network systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the management and maintenance of the company’s server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Support the management of network systems, ensuring reliability and optimal performance across local and wide-area networks (LAN/WAN).
Monitor, diagnose, and resolve system and network issues, escalating as necessary to senior specialists or engineers.
Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems by implementing and maintaining firewalls, antivirus software, and other security measures.
Assist in hardware and software inventory management and ensure proper updates and patches are applied regularly.
Provide technical support to internal users for both hardware and software-related issues.
Collaborate with the senior IT team on system and network optimization projects and assist with the implementation of new IT technologies.
Document system configurations, network architectures, and troubleshooting processes to ensure knowledge sharing and proper issue resolution.
Stay current with the latest IT trends and advancements to improve infrastructure reliability and performance.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
1-2 years of hands-on experience in IT systems administration, network administration, or a similar technical role.
Basic knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.) and network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
Experience with Windows Server and Linux-based systems.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Preferred Qualifications:
CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar certifications.
Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and cloud networking.
Familiarity with monitoring tools and network diagnostic tools (Wireshark, Nagios, etc.).
Basic knowledge of scripting or automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
