Nextworld builds a forward-thinking, no-code, cloud-based development and runtime platform with robust capabilities for enterprise applications.
In this role you will be collaborating with a driven team to build robust, tested components for production-grade backend Java services.
This role is within Nextworld's Platform Development Team, where you will contribute to the creation of a cutting-edge application development platform used to build data processing systems and applications. The ideal candidate will have experience building components of enterprise-level systems and frameworks.
You will bring a collaborative, adaptable, and team-oriented approach, ready to take on a broad spectrum of technical responsibilities. You should possess a strong technical intuition, be eager and quick to learn, and have a passion for thinking outside the box to elegantly solve technical challenges — often with new technologies and tools. A self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a proactive, results-driven mindset is essential.
Knowledge and Skills:
Java and JUnit JavaScript
TypeScript, Python, Kotlin, Golang, Rust, C++, and other modern languages that show versatile application of computer science fundamentals
Databases and SQL (Postgres preferred)
Caching (Redis, etc.)
HTTP Interfaces (e.g., REST, WebSockets)
Object-oriented Design Patterns
Microservices
Distributed and Multi-threaded Systems
API Implementation and Consumption (JSON, XML, REST, HTTP, WebSockets, etc.)
Application and System Security (JWT, OAuth, PKI, etc.)
Cloud Services (AWS, etc.) Requirements:
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, advanced degree desired, or a combination of education and equivalent experience
1+ years' programming experience, ideally with object-oriented languages, such as Java
Professional experience building software for stakeholders
Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Understanding and practice with Agile software development in a team environment
Starting Salary Range: $85k - $147k per year

Position located in Greenwood Village, CO. Nextworld's hybrid model has co-location in-office days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
About the Team:
We build the no-code enterprise application platform (a.k.a. “EAP”) that is used by Nextworld’s customers and partners to create and run enterprise-grade business solutions. We have a knack for abstracting complex technical concepts into no-code facilities that are straightforward to use. The Platform allows for the development and execution of involved, integrated business applications — complete with workflow, business logic, eventing, external callouts, notifications, various user experiences, artificial intelligence, and more. Examples of applications suites built on the Platform are enterprise financials, sales, inventory, manufacturing, and real estate.
