Job Title: Sous Chef
Porter House Bar and Grill, opened in 2006, is located on the 4th floor of The Shops at Columbus Circle, at 59th Street. Long established as one of NYC’s top steak and seafood destination restaurants we currently have an opening for a Sous Chef for immediate hire.
Our Sous Chef is responsible for working alongside our Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations including lunch and dinner service, private banquets, training and working with the line cooks, ordering and inventory and maintaining our high standards.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Able to produce and provide high quality food and service
Effective management style promoting a team atmosphere
Knowledge of all kitchen operations
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Manage effectively through delegation
Education and Experience Requirements:
Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
2-4 Years prior fine dining / high volume production
Prior NYC experience preferred
Prior line or entry level sous chef experience required
