WHO we’re looking for:
We are looking for a Java J2EE Developer/Engineer who will be responsible for backend application development using modern J2EE practices. You will contribute to architectural decisions and use hand-on coding to write production-quality code.
This is a hands-on engineering role, ideal for someone who is passionate about enterprise Java, high-performance systems, and building scalable solutions with modern best practices.
Role and Responsibilities:
Develop and enhance enterprise-grade applications using Java EE technologies.
Design and build robust RESTful and SOAP-based services for integration across systems.
Write high-quality, modular, testable, and maintainable code using modern Java (11/17) and frameworks.
Participate in architectural reviews and guide adoption of modern Java practices (Spring, JPA, etc.).
Take ownership of features and drive them from design to production.
Collaborate with QA, Product, and DevOps to ensure smooth deployment and optimal performance.
Troubleshoot complex issues across multiple environments and application tiers.
Contribute to continuous improvement in tools, automation, and development processes.
Required Experience and Education:
4 years of experience on Java Framework.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Java 11 or higher with strong OOP and design principles.
J2EE APIs: Servlets, JSP, EJB, JDBC, JMS, JNDI.
Spring Framework (Core, MVC, Security) and Spring Boot
Experience with containerization and orchestration using OpenShift, ECS, and Docker.
Familiarity with Vault for secrets management and secure credential handling.
Experience with Ansible or similar tools for configuration management and automation.
Hibernate/JPA for ORM and persistence.
RESTful & SOAP Web Services (JAX-RS, JAX-WS)
Messaging systems: JMS, Kafka, or ActiveMQ.
Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Harness, GitHub, Bitbucket, RLM, Terraform, Ansible and Tekton.
Hands-on with SQL and relational databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
Strong in build tools: Maven or Gradle
Strong knowledge of code quality and security scanning tools like SonarQube and Blackduck.
Experience with Spring Boot microservices
Proficient with Git, branching strategies, and Git-based CI pipelines
Testing frameworks: JUnit, Mockito, integration testing tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with API documentation tools: Swagger/Open API.
Exposure to OAuth2, JWT, or LDAP for authentication and authorization.
Basic knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or container deployment.
Understanding of Agile development practices.
Experience working in regulated domains (Finance, Healthcare, Telecom, etc.)
Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular) is a plus.
Working knowledge of application servers: WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat, Glass Fish
Coding Expectations:
Will spend 80% of time coding in Java, designing APIs, writing unit/integration tests, and delivering production-ready services.
Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure software quality.
Assist junior developers in troubleshooting, refactoring, and skill development.
Provide guidance in design patterns, secure coding, and modular architecture.
Foster a collaborative environment and act as a technical sounding board.
