Job Description

The Operational Technology (OT) Project Lead is responsible for advancing projects and technological capabilities within the IT/OT Department of DMI Companies. This role will support application integration, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop project scope, identify system requirements, oversee design and installation to ensure high-quality project delivery while maintaining and driving industry standards. The position requires managing and performing tasks for multiple technology projects, coordinating both internal and external resources, such as working with other departments' subject matter experts for the deployment of the application to ensure continuous improvement mindset, corporate alignment and departmental software ownership. This role reports to the Director of Operational Excellence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Lead the development and rollout of Operational Technology methodologies and projects that promote continuous improvement, process efficiencies utilizing business standards and best practices.

Support in the development of an Operational Technology Strategic Plan, assess and ensure the plans are being implemented.

Manage projects which may extend to other internal departments, suppliers, application partners, etc.

Oversee OT designs, timeline, installations, tracking deliveries and overall budgets.

Establish project plans, tasks, resources, and ownership to ensure timelines are met.

Collaborate with IT and OT teams to streamline data collection and ensure accurate data flow between systems.

Develop OT project scopes and coordinate site discovery for OT.

Work with the Operations Leadership Team to establish projects which support the growth of the business.

Communicate program strategies and performance metrics, compliance with business leadership and technology leadership.

Lead project meetings and provide status updates to the teams and the management team.

Document system configurations, workflows, processes/procedures and best practices to ensure scalability, reliability and continuity.

Configure, deploy, and maintain IT/OT hardware, software, and networks, including IIoT devices and edge computing solutions.

Support and collaborate with other IT/OT Project Leads and team members.

EDUCATION & SKILLS

Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

Certifications in relevant IT/OT areas preferred.

Knowledge of IIoT technologies, system integration, and edge computing is highly desirable.

Familiarity with IT/OT systems such as PLCs, Data Warehouse, MES, or ERP is a plus.

Hands-on experience with OT systems such as PLCs, MRP, MES, and familiarity with IT environments including servers, databases, and networks.

Understanding of manufacturing processes and lean principles a plus.

Basic programming skills (e.g., VBA, SQL, C++) and an understanding of data extraction tools.

Experience with cloud platforms and data pipelines for industrial applications preferred.

Knowledge of networking and system configuration is preferred.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
