This role is responsible for building, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing tools & dies in support of our progressive and secondary stamping presses. The position collaborates closely with design engineers.Requirements:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Design, Build, Assemble, and Troubleshoot:

Set up and operate all tool room equipment: surface grinders, heat treat ovens, hone, polishing, jig bore, etc.

Inspect parts visually and dimensionally to meet print criteria using precision measuring instruments such as optical comparators, micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges.

Perform all work necessary to assure that parts produced will meet the drawing specifications and pass internal inspection.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

2+ years’ experience with tool and die fabrication, preferably with metal stamping company.

Preferred knowledge of coining metals, nickel alloy behavior, deep draw, and transfer press techniques.

Basic math & trigonometry.

Knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position works in a shop environment. The employee must be cognizant of hazards, including but not limited to variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, and exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
