OrthoNJ is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Medical Billing Representative specializing in ancillary orthopedic care services including Physical Therapy, DME, and Viscosupplementation. This position offers the opportunity to play a crucial role in our revenue cycle management while ensuring compliance with billing regulations and insurance requirements.

Claims Processing & Management:

Process and submit all paper and electronic claims for assigned carriers

Review clearinghouse edit reports daily and resolve issues promptly

Manage specialized billing for physical therapy, occupational therapy, DME, Viscosupplementation/gel injections, and other orthopedic services

Verify completeness of insurance claim information before submission

Account Management:

Monitor unpaid insurance claims and follow up with carriers

Appeal underpayments and process refund requests

Coordinate medical records requests and additional documentation

Stay current with payor policy and guideline updates

Patient Accounts & Payment Processing:

Establish payment plans within approved guidelines

Manage patient A/R and statement processing

Post adjustments and payments according to protocol

Identify underpayments and resolve discrepanciesWhat You'll Need to Succeed

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED

Minimum 18 months experience in physician group practice billing

Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10-CM coding for orthopedic, podiatry & pain management procedures

Familiarity with HIPAA & OSHA guidelines

Experience with medical practice management systems and EMRs

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, staff, and patients

Commitment to confidentiality, quality customer service, and professionalism

Pay rate starting at $22 per hour, commensurate with experience
