Job Title: Machine Operator Trainee

Job Location: Utica, Michigan

Job Schedule: Training for 3 to 6 months: 5:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Mon - Thu, Fri & Sat as needed

After training: 3:15 PM to 1:15 AM, Mon - Thu, Fri & Sat as needed

About the role of Machine Operator Trainee:

The Header and/or Roller Trainee is an entry-level position for candidates who are inclined to learn and become qualified Cold Header or Thread Roller Operators. Experienced header and roller operators are in high demand and key to our business. The training program is set up like an apprenticeship program with classroom activities and hands-on training and mentoring by highly experienced trainers and operators. Prior experience is not necessary. Only applicants with a desire to learn, grow, and succeed need apply.

Responsibilities of a Machine Operator Trainee:

Commit to consistent attendance and active participation throughout the

training program.

Engage, fully in both classroom-based learning and practical, on-the-job

training

sessions.

Develop proficiency in using measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers)

for quality assurance.

Learn to set up, operate, and adjust manufacturing equipment, including cold

headers and thread rollers.

Interpret and follow technical blueprints, schematics, and job specifications

accurately.

Inspect finished parts for surface defects and ensure compliance with quality

standards.

Acquire basic welding skills, including wire welding techniques.

Participate in 5S housekeeping practices to maintain an organized and safe

work

environment.

Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Additional skills and/or experience required for success in the role of a Machine Operator Trainee:

Mechanical aptitude with a keen interest in machinery and manufacturing

processes.

Basic computer literacy for data entry and equipment interface.

Ability to read and comprehend job instructions and technical documentation.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, lift, and sit as required during

Shifts.

Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team

setting.
