Equipment Mechanic - Small Engine
Goals and Objectives:
This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing roofing equipment, machinery and fleet vehicles, ensuring that the equipment is in optimal working condition to support roofing operations and safety. The position will also work closely with the Warehouse to support their objectives. This role requires a hands-on individual with experience in mechanical repairs and a proactive approach to equipment.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
o Perform routine maintenance and repairs on roofing equipment, including tear-off machines, power tools, and other specialized equipment.
o Conduct diagnostic tests to identify mechanical issues and determine necessary repairs.
o Maintain and repair company fleet vehicles, ensuring they are safe and operational, as required.
o Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning to extend the lifespan of equipment and vehicles.
o Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
o Operate a forklift to move and organize equipment and materials within the warehouse.
o Assist with inventory management of parts and supplies needed for repairs.
o Comply with all safety protocols and regulations.
o Coordinate roofing material and equipment pickup and delivery to and from job site, as required.
o Fulfill load list and inventory requests, as required.
o Understand proper use of vehicles, trailers, equipment, and tools and train others in proper use procedures.
o Maintain safe and clean warehouse and grounds.
o Perform basic facility maintenance for all building on site.
o Lift and move heavy equipment and parts, up to 50 pounds.
o Other duties as assigned by manager.
o Lift and climb ladders, as required.
Position Requirements:
o High school diploma or equivalent
o Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably in a warehouse or construction environment.
o Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, particularly related to roofing equipment and vehicles.
o Forklift
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Drivers license required.
