Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Effectively manages direct reports as assigned, including overseeing the department which includes Tool Room, Maintenance, Process Engineering, Facilities and Automation staff
Assist with mold design and qualification of new molds
Ensure completion of mold qualifications
Review project feasibility after beginning projects
Work with Project Manager to plan development projects by setting timelines for project milestones and ensuring those timelines are met
Execute project development by utilizing all available resources and adjusting schedules as needed
Ensure all job changes are correctly started up; ex: cycle times, overall process of machines and automation.
Involved with the sampling, molds/materials of new products
Oversee set-up operation for mold changes
Assist other departments in coordination of mold repairs
Manages the process engineering initiatives and process optimizations
Integrate process engineering lessons learned into new mold design
On call for troubleshooting
Support and lead capital investment in facility infrastructure for new and current manufacturing lines
Production change-over
Ensure that product meets established quality criteria
Fill in for Manufacturing Manager as needed
Promotes continuous improvement efforts for the company
Knowledge / Experience / Skills:
High school diploma or GED. Three years experience in Injection Molding. General knowledge of Injection Molding and manufacturing operations. Good communication and Interpersonal Skills. Basic Computer experience.
