We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting various providers including Pain Specialist, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants. Their duties include recording and updating medical histories in patient files, scheduling patient appointments, and performing standard care procedures such as drawing blood, checking vitals, and performing IM injections.

Responsibilities:

Clean and prepare medical rooms for providers

Prepare injectables and medications

Stock rooms

Order supplies

Chart in appropriate EMR system

Scribe as needed for provider(s)

Scan and fax documents

Answer phones as needed

Schedule appointments in EMR system

Administer IM injections

Perform blood draws

Must be able to speak Spanish

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

New graduates welcome; 1+ years of related work experience is preferred

Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA) is preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge of medical terminology and basic medical procedures

Proficient in computer skills and electronic medical records

Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy

Physical Requirements

Requires the effective use of office equipment including, but not limited to, computers, phones, and printers

Ability to sit at a desk and operate a computer for extended periods of time

Ability to communicate via phone and in person in an active office environment

Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times
