Structural Engineer in the Alexandria or Springfield, VA areas.
Must be U.S.
Citizen with the ability to obtain clearance.
Job description: Perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of building materials using various building codes Participate in field surveys and document existing conditions Communicate and coordinate with architects and engineers of other disciplines Review and evaluate existing building structural systems Prepare drawings using Revit and AutoCAD Write comprehensive reports Review construction submittals, participate in construction observation, and respond to contractor inquiries Track all hours and expenses for your billable hours on projects Required: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE), with a concentration in structural engineering, OR Architectural Engineering Licensed PE Excellent verbal and written communication skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, & current industry structural engineering design software Bluebeam Good organizational and team skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment Willingness to be challenged and develop new skills Ability to obtain secret clearance Preferred: Experience in AT FP (anti-terrorism/force protection) PE in VA or DC Federal and military project experience Project Management experience Ajera Ideally, the client is looking for someone who has 5-10 years of experience.
This person will come in above the Designer team, so you will be working with Principals above you and Designers below you, but in an agile team environment. The client would like to find a long-term employee who is experienced to mid-career with a partner mindset one day.

Location of job: Alexandria, VA 22312 (OR Boulder, CO area) Hours and shift: Monday – Friday, 8AM – 5PM (can be somewhat flexible as long as it's 8 hours/day) 40 hours a week; Some employees work 4 day,10 hour shifts to get off on Friday.
