Job Summary

The Multicultural Racial Equity Coordinator is committed to developing meaningful relationships with adults, children, families, and employees, which is important to the success of the YWCA Rock County. They will take primary responsibility for implementing DEI initiatives and supporting the organization in creating a welcoming culture of inclusivity.

Major Responsibilities

Manage and Operational Budget of $100,000 to $150,000.

This position absorbs a low to medium level of risk for the organization in the daily responsibility of the safety of others, participants are served through activities such as events, adult education classes/workshops, and an Annual Conference.

Examples of operational tasks performed:

- Providing volunteer opportunities to help the YWCA fulfill its mission.

- Creating relationships with donors and volunteers; and raising the profile of the YWCA in the community.

- Provide oversight to programs related components in DEI grants

- Manage program operations within the approved budget. Seek funding by making presentations, assisting and collaborating our Director of Donor Engagement and Grants to write grants that support our program outcomes, and participate in fundraiser planning committees

- Identify program needs, develop program plans and policies, and perform ongoing evaluation of services.

- Conduct community education/training related to the program’s purpose

- Develop objectives and action steps for Strategic Planning integration and implementation

- Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and orientation of volunteers, and interns

The Multicultural and Racial Equity Program Director supervises interns and/or volunteers.

- Responsible for the effective leadership of assigned staff including participating in the hiring process, on-the-job training, performance management to include counseling, motivating, disciplinary actions and performance reviews.

This position also participates internally on other organizational committees, management meetings, and may be asked to take a Leadership role in presenting and training staff.

This position will participate in external, community like-minded organizations and build partnerships and/or collaborations. As relationships are built, there is an expectation to nurture these organizational relationships for the sustainability of the YWCA of Rock County.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in the DEI field or related degree with at least 3-5 years of experience in the field.

Two years of supervisory experience.

Knowledge and experience in the subject matter area of this field.

Supervisor: Executive Director

Hours: 40 hours weekly. Primarily days with occasional evenings and weekends as required, on-call duties
