Our client, a leading provider of solid waste and recycling services, is looking for an Overnight Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to work in their facility in Brooklyn. The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor oversees preventative maintenance and repairs for the Landfill. The Maintenance Supervisor promotes a proactive, efficient, and service-oriented program aimed at maintaining the landfills equipment/fleet in peak operating condition. They provide leadership and direction to a team of technicians. The Supervisor is responsible for replacement schedules, preventative maintenance, and repair of Company vehicles, as well as administrative duties such as parts procurement, inventory management, asset tracking and cost control. The Supervisor utilizes fleet management and onboard computing software to monitor vehicle performance and cost.
Essential responsibilities:
Oversee scheduling of all planned repair work to increase productivity and allocate resources appropriately among multiple trucks and equipment.
· Execute an on-going preventative maintenance program, including identifying trends in road calls, breakdowns, and maintenance needs.
· Provide direction and coaching to the Maintenance Team to ensure that all maintenance and repairs are performed in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
Work with the Maintenance Manager to assess staffing needs, training, etc.
· Ensure compliance with Company safety standards, as well as federal and state regulations, including maintenance of repair records and other required documentation.
· Maintain advanced knowledge of engine, emission systems, transmission, brake, hydraulic and electrical systems of heavy equipment and vehicles used by the Company, as well as staying up to date on changes to federal and state regulation
Requirements and Qualifications:
3+ years' experience as a fleet maintenance supervisor or foreman/team lead.
3+ years' Technical experience working with Dump (semi) Trucks, Loaders - specifically hydraulics, diesel engines, brakes, emission systems, electrical systems
Experience in the solid waste industry greatly preferred
Experience with computer aided diagnostics (CAT ET, Cummins Insite, Premium Tech Tool, etc.) greatly preferred
Spanish bilingual strongly preferred
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Strong knowledge of DOT CMV rules, OSHA, and other federal and local regulations and requirement
Valid driver's license required, CDL preferred.
