Senior Data Analyst / Business Analyst

Technologies: Snowflake, dbt, SQL, Python, Data Warehousing, Master Data Management (MDM)

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Data Analyst / Business Analyst with over a decade of experience, including significant exposure to the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in data analysis, data cataloging and business analysis, with a strong understanding of platforms like Snowflake and dbt. This role is instrumental in driving data initiatives that align technical solutions with business goals, ensuring high-quality delivery across analytics and data engineering efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead requirement gathering and business analysis across key insurance domains including Customer, Product, and Policy Administration.

Oversee the end-to-end delivery of data pipeline projects using Snowflake, dbt, and SQL, working closely with data engineers and solution architects.

Translate complex business needs into scalable and optimized data models and transformation logic using dbt.

Facilitate project planning, prioritization, and triage meetings with both business and IT stakeholders.

Partner with cross-functional teams to define, validate, and refine business logic and reporting requirements.

Drive and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business expectations.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics or a related discipline.

10+ years of experience in data analysis/business analysis, with a strong focus on insurance (life or health).

At least 5 years of experience working on projects involving Snowflake and dbt, managing data pipelines.

Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python

Strong experience in documentation including BRDs, data dictionaries, lineage diagrams, and process flows.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface confidently with both technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

Data Analysis using SQL, Python

Data Modeling (must)

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira, Confluence, and modern CI/CD practices.

Exposure to Master Data Management (MDM) solutions and data quality tools
