Contract Low Latency J2EE & DB Developer

MUST be local to New York City. Hybrid schedule, at least 3 days onsite

Seeking an experienced Java Developer to design and develop a low-latency electronic trading platform. This role involves collaborating with trading and quantitative teams to deliver innovative solutions in a greenfield project.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop architecture for a low-latency electronic trading platform.

Continuously enhance platform capabilities post-delivery.

Provide technical mentorship and guidance to the team.

Participate in all software delivery lifecycle phases.

Required Skills:

5+ years of enterprise Java development experience (JDK 11 or 17).

Expertise in asynchronous, event-driven programming and concurrency.

Experience with low-latency, high-throughput trading applications.

Proficiency with tools like Spring, Apache Camel, REST API, JMS (Active MQ), SQL, and enterprise monitoring.

Familiarity with capital markets, including pricing, trade execution, and related systems.

Education:

B.S. in Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
