Odysseys Unlimited, a Newton (Massachusetts) based tour operator and direct marketer, provides international small group tours to older Americans including members of some of the country’s most prestigious non-profit organizations. Title: Accounts Payable Accountant
Reporting to: Senior Manager, Accounts Payable
Job Summary
The Accounts Payable Accountant will be responsible for reconciliation and payment of domestic and international invoices as well as Tour Director expense reports for various tours, as assigned. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be highly organized and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, timeline-oriented environment. The successful candidate will be a team player with a can- do attitude and a passion for accuracy and integrity.
Responsibilities
Reconcile and process multi-currency invoices, identify discrepancies and work with vendor and Product Development department to resolve issues
Prepare vendor payments within contracted terms
Respond to vendor inquiries within 24 hours
Process tour bank funding and reconcile completed reports for Tour Directors
Assist with monthly cost of goods accrual
Maintain accounts payable files
Contribute to the development or improvement of Accounts Payable systems to effectively track, process or capture data
Other projects as assignedRequirements:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent years of experience
2+ years’ experience in Accounts Payable
Proficient with Excel, Word and MS Office
Prior experience with NetSuite a plus
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Highly organized, accurate and detail oriented
Ability to multitask and work well in a fast-paced, timeline-orientated environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with multi-currency processing is preferred.
