Job Title: Special Events Setup Associate

Department: Security and Special Operations

Reports to: Team Lead Officer

Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt/Hourly Staff, Non-Benefited

SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of this position is to set up and arrange event spaces according to event specifications and ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the area before and after events. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently, both independently and as part of a team.

RELATIONSHIPS

The Special Events Setup Associate reports to the Team Lead Officer. This position interacts with administrators, faculty, staff, students, visitors, and vendors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Must be able to successfully perform all the following duties and other duties as assigned.

Provide set-ups (to include but not limited to tables, chairs, podiums, sound systems, etc.) in support of day-to-day campus activities and special events (some are one-time, and some are recurring).

Ensure all event spaces are arranged according to the specifications provided.

Handle and transport event equipment safely and efficiently.

Dismantle and store all event equipment including but not limited to tables, chairs, podiums, sound systems, etc. following each event.

Assist in performing traffic and parking control, assist the landscape crew in performing their duties (mowing, trimming, clearing streets, picking up litter, etc.), assist the custodial crew in clean-up, assisting the facilities maintenance crew by digging trenches, moving large items, and providing other general support for the campus community.

Assist with the layout/marking of athletic fields and setting up athletic equipment such as goals, bases, nets, etc.

Safely operate and drive pick-ups and golf carts.

Must complete and successfully pass the Webb School driver training course. After passing the driver training, help with the transportation of Webb Students as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED

A high school education or equivalent is required. Six months experience in a similar position is preferred but not required.

OTHER SKILLS

Must be able to effectively communicate with campus staff, faculty, students, and visitors.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Must have a current California driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record. A criminal background check must be successfully completed before employment can begin. Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical requirements of this position are those needed to successfully fulfill the job duties and responsibilities articulated above. Walking, squatting, sitting, driving, and bending/stooping are all essential to this position. Must be able to carry, push, lift, and pull up to 50 lbs. COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY

Anticipated pay range: $18.00/Hour
