POSITION SUMMARY
The Multimedia Editor is responsible for producing, curating and cataloging multimedia assets that will help tell the story of Trinity’s mission through its strategic initiatives, congregational programming, and external partnerships. As a member of the Communications & Marketing team, they will collaborate with colleagues by providing multimedia assets, with an emphasis on photography, for use in digital and print materials across Trinity.
The hourly pay rate for this position is $50 to $55.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Explore, develop, edit and produce photography content for Trinity Church’s print and digital platforms
Collaborate with editorial and design teams to conceive photo-centric ideas and research multimedia assets that create a compelling visual story.
Pitching and assigning photographers for Trinity Church events and communications projects
Produce photo shoots including negotiating with photographers, managing contracts, managing budget, copyright agreement, location scouting and photo brief development.
Work with the Project Managers to make sure all costs are tracked and budgets maintained
Perform photo editing and retouching
Secure rights and permissions for all PR, stock and assigned photography, and other multimedia assets.
Create visual, narrative outlines for photo and video stories and campaign themes to make sure they evolve as a coherent package
Selects and suggests multimedia assets to the communications team and ministry partners as needed for use in social media, the web or print.
Ongoing collaboration with the Studios team to build upon, streamline, and enhance photo/video/reels digital asset management system.
Adhere to confidentiality rules and all other Trinity Church NYC policies, procedures, and rules.
Performs all duties in a manner that promotes Trinity’s mission and core values.
Assume other related responsibilities and special projects as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ACTIVITIES
Excellent aesthetic and understanding of branding
Previous experience working on editorial and content development
Experience working with DAM systems and familiarity with taxonomy, metadata and cataloging standards
Ability to maintain tight budgets without sacrificing quality
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to use Photoshop/Lightroom for retouching and color correcting
Ability to select photos that are composed well and tell the story visually
Ability to serve as photographer
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Ability to be flexible amid changing priorities or deadlines
Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Photography experience and background strongly valued
Knowledge of church workings helpful
Cost conscious photo editor who can maintain tight budgets without sacrificing quality
REQUIRED AND PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CREDENTIALS
Bachelor’s degree in photography, digital photography, visual communications or other related field
5-7 years of experience
