Position Summary:
The Night Nurse Supervisor serves as the primary clinical lead and administrative decision-maker during overnight hours. This role includes supervisory responsibilities across both skilled nursing and assisted living settings, focusing on care quality, regulatory compliance, staff coordination, and resident well-being.

Essential Duties:
Supervise nursing and direct care staff on night shift across the Borden Center (SNF) and Webster Center (VA ALF).
Ensure prompt, individualized delivery of nursing and personal care aligned with each resident’s care/service plan.
Monitor residents’ conditions and respond quickly to clinical changes, emergencies, or incidents.
Coordinate staffing to ensure adequate night coverage and manage unscheduled absences.
Ensure compliance with Kendal at Lexington policies and all relevant state/federal SNF and ALF regulations.
Perform routine night rounds to assess resident safety, comfort, and staff performance.
Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management for overnight staff.
Support onboarding and training of new night shift employees.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical records system.
Communicate with physicians, families, and on-call administrators as necessary.
Assist in incident reporting, investigation, and resolution.
Qualifications:
Licensure: Current RN or LPN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (required).
Experience: Minimum 2 years in geriatric or long-term care nursing; prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Certification: CPR/BLS certification required.
Familiarity with SNF and ALF regulations in Virginia.
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
Proficiency in electronic medical record systems (EMRs).
