Department Description:
The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at HPU offers degrees in electrical engineering and computer engineering. Classes for electrical and computer engineering majors are typically found in Couch Hall.
Job Description:
A student worker is sought to work on researching renewable energy resources on the lunar surface.
Job Location/ Hours Required:
The candidates will perform most job duties in Couch Hall in rooms 220, 222, 230 or 240. Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 20 hours. This position requires up to 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
Review published literature and perform additional literature search as needed.
Write code and perform mathematical calculations.
Write summary documents to record findings.
Assist in drafting grant proposals.
Have regular meetings (not less than once per week) with their supervisor to discuss findings.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Majoring in engineering, physics or similar STEM major.
Interest in space research.
Basic ability to code.
Demonstrated knowledge of advanced math (ie. have completed pre-calculus, calculus, or other advanced math classes with good grades).
Desired Skills:
Demonstrated knowledge of calculus.
Basic knowledge of physics.
Ability to communicate clearly.
Previous experience with electrical systems, microcontrollers, robotics or similar.
