What you’ll do at OhioMHAS:
We’re looking for a Senior Hiring Management Specialist to join our central office HR team and play a key role in supporting our hiring and staffing processes. In this role, you’ll coordinate recruitment efforts, support managers through hiring decisions, and ensure that our HR practices follow all state and federal rules.
You’ll work closely with department managers in our central office, Recovery Services, & Ohio Pharmacy Services to manage job postings, review applications, create and update job descriptions, and guide hiring teams through the interview and selection process. You’ll also help ensure that our HR systems and policies are accurate, compliant, and effective.
Recruitment & Hiring Support
Write and post job openings that attract the right candidates
Screen applications and coordinate interviews
Develop and use job-related assessments to help identify top candidates
Conduct reference checks and background screenings
Manage job offers and new hire paperwork
Position & Job Description Management
Help managers create and update position descriptions
Ensure jobs are accurately classified and comply with agency and state guidelines
Track and enter position changes in our HR systems (e.g., OAKS, OHMS)
Develop and administer assessment/job analysis process for assigned program areas
Advising & Compliance
Advise managers on hiring rules, job classification, and interview procedures
Ensure our processes follow federal and state employment laws (e.g., ORC, OAC)
Maintain accurate employee and job records
HR Projects & Training
Assist with HR policy development and improvement projects
Help deliver training for managers on job descriptions, hiring, and compliance
Stay up to date with HR laws and best practices through training and professional development
This is an hourly position and is exempt from the bargaining units, with a pay range of 12 on the E1 Exempt Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (Flexible Schedule).
Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
Position Qualifications:
3 yrs. exp. in human resources.
OR
Completion of undergraduate core program in human resources, business or public administration; 12 mos. exp. in human resources.
OR
1 yr. exp. as Human Capital Management Analyst, 64612.
OR
The equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
