Job Title: Production Specialist

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Production Specialist, where you'll play a crucial role in our growing company. With increased orders from both our Retail and Electrical Distribution Divisions, we are expanding and seeking dedicated individuals to operate and maintain our production equipment. You'll be part of a team that ensures the smooth operation of our plant in Ogden, UT, transitioning to four, 12-hour shifts.

Shifts:

7am- 7pm 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off

7pm- 7am 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days offResponsibilities

Set up and operate a rotating cylindrical shaped stranding/bunching machine to fabricate wire cable.

Place take-up spool into machines and adjust the travel of distributor to width of spool.

Thread wires through holes on inside edge of machine and through twisting head, coiling it around capstan.

Cut wire when specified footage has been wound and wrap end of wire by hand or using mechanical tools.

Adjust machinery during operation to regulate speed of makeup spool shaft.

Observe machine to detect issues and ensure quality of production.

Check wire diameter along with lay length and weight.

Thread machine by pulling wire through guides.

Use job orders to set up machines as required.

Untangle snarls and repair breaks in wire.

Move finished wire from take-up by rolling reels out of machine for forklift pickup.

Maintain cleanliness of work area and observe all company and safety rules.

Perform preventive and minor equipment maintenance as required.

Update GEMBA boards as required.

Participate in Lean events, housekeeping, and safety audits as needed.

Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.Essential Skills

Previous production experience is preferred.

Mechanical inclination and ability to work with hand tools.

Experience working in a production environment.

Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions.

Strong math skills including addition, multiplication, subtraction, and division.

Basic computer skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Basic troubleshooting skills are a plus.

Work Environment

Work in an industrial environment with various types of machines that fabricate and coil copper wires. Enjoy flexible shifts with options for 8-hour day schedules or 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule, ensuring a balanced work-life arrangement.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ogden, Utah.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.29 - $22.29/hr.
