Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist with the administration and compliance of Safety and Quality Programs
Proficient in operating and taking care of optical and electrical surveying instruments and equipment (Example: UTS, GPS, Total Station, etc.)
Frequently and professionally communicate with clients, contractors, teammates, etc.
Transfer survey data to the proper files in the computer network and acquire data for field use
Provide interpretation of design plans for construction/staking/laying out
Ensure surveys are compliant with appliable laws, rules, and regulations
Perform field calculations, note-keeping, and electronic data collection to describe/record survey work performed
Use field survey methods and techniques to determine precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas and contours
Determine methods and procedures for establishing or re-establishing survey control
Be responsible for and oversee the maintenance of the truck and necessary adjustments to field survey equipment
Resolve procedural, operational, and work-related problems, including conflicts in plans, errors in work, personnel issues, etc.
Coordinate activities with project staff, project subcontractors and Assistant Survey Manager
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to five years of surveying experience
1+ year of experience as a Survey Party Chief
Experience in AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center (TBC), and Trimble Access is preferred
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Strong decision-making and/or problem-solving skills
Strong time management and communication skills
Efficient in Microsoft Office applications
