As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking The Infatuation team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Works cross-functionally with Product Managers, UX Designers, Business Analysts, and other disciplines
Writes clean, concise, and secure code with limited guidance
Collaborates with other Frontend, Mobile, Backend, and Full-Stack Engineers for pair programming, code reviews, and project planning
Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation
Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity
Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development
Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems
Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts with 3+ years applied experience
Experience in using TypeScript, React, JSX/TSX, and other related frontend-oriented software languages and libraries
Expertise in building high-quality frontend user interfaces using industry-standard tools, including React, TypeScript, and Next.js
Competency in modern React methodologies and syntax, such as hooks, functional components, and the Context API
Strong knowledge of mobile-first and responsive design principles
Ability to integrate with APIs within the context of modern frontend applications
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment
Experience working across the entire Software Development Life Cycle
Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
A curiosity for staying ahead of modern frontend development trends and experimenting with emerging technologies, including AI and Machine Learning
Experience with, or a desire to upskill into, React Native for mobile app development
Exposure to AWS or other cloud technologies and working with GraphQL and headless CMS
Familiarity with automated testing suites such as Jest or Mocha
Experience in debugging and resolving cross-browser issues
