ABOUT THE JOB
This role will begin as a remote position for ~6mos, then transition to an onsite role at Anduril’s new hyperfactory, “Arsenal 1”. As the first Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team member at this site, this position is responsible for the development and implementation of environmental programs and permits to comply with federal, state, and local regulations in advance of operations commencing in 2026. The EHS team will continue to grow as we move towards operational readiness, which will allow this position to continue as the lead for the environmental department. This is an exciting opportunity to help stand up the first hyperfactory for Anduril.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Serve as the primary environmental subject matter expert for Arsenal 1.
Serve as primary contact with the Ohio EPA, Franklin County agencies, and City of Columbus environmental departments.
Manage permitting for air emissions, stormwater, wastewater, and hazardous waste as required by Ohio EPA and local agencies.
Conduct regular environmental audits and facility inspections to identify risks and ensure corrective actions.
Monitor regulatory changes in Ohio and the Columbus area to ensure proactive compliance.
Develop and lead staff training programs in environmental awareness, compliance, and sustainability.
Coordinate emergency response procedures spill prevention plans (SPCC) and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
7+ years of experience with focus on environmental program development, implementation and oversight.
Experience working with local, state and federal environmental regulators in air, water and waste.
Experience in 49 CFR Hazardous Materials Regulations
Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective at engaging with leadership, regulators, front-line staff, and third-party partners
Capability to manage multiple activities/projects and deadlines
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICAITONS:
Strong air program experience to prepare and submit environmental reports including Title V air permits, NPDES permits, Tier II, TRI, and hazardous waste reporting.
Strong working knowledge of Ohio EPA regulations, Columbus-area ordinances, and federal environmental laws.
US Salary Range
$1—$1 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
