Job purpose
The inventory associate will work closely with the manager in the supply chain organization most closely associated with the functional area of the transactions in question (shipping, receiving, material handling). Review Epicor transactions for possible errors. Count parts with likely transaction errors with the goal of uncovering the root cause of error. Audit transactions during the day and work with transaction accuracy team members to identify patterns or root causes, recommend and seek approval for preventive actions and corrective transactions. Support year-end inventory activities. Maintain high accuracy and integrity surrounding all tracking and corrective activities from daily counts, participate in physical inventory, and maintain a high-level review for inventory accuracy and integrity.
Duties and responsibilities
Assist and lead others in efforts to uncover transaction errors and determine the root cause of errors
Perform daily inventory counts, and assist with full physical inventories
Review for transactional accuracy, fully investigate and report errors
Mindful use of professionalism and diplomacy is required for inter-departmental communication
Knowledgeable review of BOM for material use
Assist in educating others to sustain inventory processes and procedures.
Lead, communicate and perform all processes with transactional integrity
Knowledgeable use of equipment and technology to complete activities such as cycle counts, physicals, 5S
Perform random audits for process integrity
Obtain production data to create reports, charts and graphs (production inventory team)
Monitor and assist in maintaining procedures, forms, and reports
Identify, report, and process inventory aging and obsolescence
Other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
Preferred: Associate degree, or 3 years of equivalent inventory experience,
Working knowledge of both manufacturing and inventory processes
Intermediate Microsoft Excel efficiency preferred.
Strong experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office products, scanners, ERP systems
Strong team player, and self starter, with a positive attitude
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) for effective internal staff communication
Attention to detail
Demonstrated reliability and responsibility.
Strong analytical and math ability
Forklift experience preferred
WMS experience with Epicor preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role has no supervisory experience
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for 8 hour shifts. The employee is frequently required to walk, bend, reach and twist. The employee must occasionally operate a fork truck. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Safety Requirements
Ability to wear required PPE if in any manufacturing area.
