POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Product Manager for Interconnect / Embedded Systems will play a crucial role in leading the development and management of our product portfolio of board level and high speed connector products to meet the exacting demands of our customers in industries with high-reliability requirements. This role requires a strategic thinker, excellent project management skills, and deep knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes and technologies to include understanding of embedded electronics systems and the components and subsystems like rigid and flexible printed circuit board assemblies, electronic connectors and related cable assemblies crucial to their reliability and performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy aligned with the company's long-term vision and market trends, focusing on high-reliability electronic components and systems. Develop and execute product portfolio strategy, including value proposition and product lifecycle management (new product development through obsolescence).
Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback to identify market opportunities, customer needs, and potential threats. Understand market needs, trends, competitor intelligence for given product line(s) to develop a roadmap and a cadence of new product releases to meet current and future customer requirements.
Product Roadmap: Create and maintain a clear product roadmap, prioritizing features, enhancements, and new product development projects based on market demands and business objectives. Develop a cadence of new product releases to meet current and future customer requirements.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, sales, business development and marketing teams to ensure alignment with product development goals, quality standards, and effective product launches. Develop/improve product line go to market strategy and ensure sufficient and effective sales channel resources in place to drive growth.
Product Development: Lead product development initiatives from concept to launch, including defining product requirements, coordinating engineering efforts, and managing project timelines and budgets. Guide product support teams through product definition, technical product development, strategy, determination, and production of new and existing product lines.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that high-quality standards and regulatory compliance are maintained throughout the product lifecycle, particularly for industries with strict reliability requirements.
Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners, gathering feedback to continuously improve existing products and identify opportunities for innovation. Conduct VoC (voice of customer) efforts to continually refine, bolster, and redefine product roadmaps based on pertinent current and future needs.
Financial Management: Develop and manage the product budget, forecasting revenue, and monitoring costs to ensure profitability and sustainability. Responsible for pricing analysis and decisions to maximize performance of product line(s) as measured via sales growth and margin.
Team Leadership: Provide mentorship and leadership to cross-functional teams in support of product management efforts.
Risk Management: Identify and proactively address potential risks and challenges in product development, manufacturing, and market adoption.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred; minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, preferably in high-reliability electronics manufacturing, connectors or a related industry.
Self-motivated and entrepreneurial with a demonstrated track record of success in development and execution of marketing strategies.
Ability to effectively deal with ambiguity and a strong bias for action and drive for results.
Strong technical background in electronics and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes to include experience in demanding application markets like defense, aerospace, medical, and heavy industrial.
Proven track record of successfully launching and managing high-reliability electronic products.
Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience in Excel and other database tools.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to high-reliability electronics is a plus.
