Summary/Objective
The Welder works from drawings and with a team to fabricate and weld components based on product specifications.
Essential Functions
Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations
Joins, fabricates and metal material
Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness and product appearance consistency
Maintain departmental housekeeping standards
Provide other reasonable services as the Company may request from time to time

Work Environment
The job operates in all areas of the NARSTCO facility and work will require exposure to loud noises, machines, fumes, heat/cold, sparks, metal dust and industrial moving parts in the plant facility.
The company supplies a welding hood and the position requires the use of safety glasses and shoes, grinding shield, tight-fitting clothing without tears, hearing protection and gloves.
Physical Demands
The employee may be required to sit, stand, kneel, or crouch and work may involve heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds individually and assistance must be required for anything over 50 pounds. Vision must be 20/20 (with the assistance of corrective lenses if needed).
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are based on a shift schedule up to 40 hours a week, and overtime depending on company internal and external project demands.

Required Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED required
Must be 18 years or older
Trade/vocational school with certification preferred
1-3 years MIG welding experience required
Five + years welding experience to include MIG welding in lieu of trade/vocational school or certification
Ability to read and understand blueprints and weld symbols preferred
Knowledge of the metric system preferred
Accurately measure and lay out locations for welded components required
Operate grinder, drill, band saw and torch preferred
Knowledge on how to set-up weld machine and lay a quality bead required
Ability to work well with tools and machinery required
Experience in industrial, production manufacturing and fabrication preferred
