We are recruiting for a skilled Process Engineering Technician to support an R&D team in developing compostable products for the food service industry.
Position is a DIRECT HIRE! Pay is $60,000-$70,000 annually with EXCELLENT benefits including fully paid healthcare for employee, 401k match, PTO and much more!
This hands-on role involves operating industrial equipment, assisting with experiments, and contributing to the development of eco-friendly packaging solutions.
Location & Schedule
Full-time, on-site position in Stone Mountain, GA
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday
Key Responsibilities
Operate and maintain industrial prototype equipment including extruders, injection molders, and thermoformers
Assist engineers and scientists with material testing, experimentation, and process development
Document experimental procedures and results with meticulous attention to detail
Help design and optimize tooling and molds for various manufacturing processes
Perform basic fabrication and assembly tasks (cutting, drilling, milling)
Support equipment selection, procurement, and installation
Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Engineering, Materials Science preferred)
5+ years of experience in process engineering, preferably in materials development, packaging, or food manufacturing
Proficiency with plastic processing equipment (compression/injection molding, thermoforming, extrusion)
Experience with basic fabrication methods and hand tools
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with biopolymers, thermoplastic starches, cellulosic, and other natural materials
