Overview

MetroSys is seeking an experienced Senior Wireless Network Engineer and a Junior Wireless Engineer to support enterprise wireless network planning and deployment for various State of Colorado agency locations. The successful candidates will play a key role in the assessment, design, and implementation of Cisco-based wireless solutions across a range of facilities.Senior Wireless Network Engineer Responsibilities:

Lead wireless network planning, architecture, and implementation for Cisco-based infrastructure.

Collaborate with State of Colorado IT teams to understand deployment goals, technical constraints, and site-specific requirements.

Review and validate wireless site survey reports, heatmaps, and recommendations provided by the Junior Engineer.

Serve as a technical advisor for wireless standards, security, capacity planning, and performance optimization.

Ensure all designs align with enterprise standards and best practices for large-scale wireless environments.Junior Wireless Engineer Responsibilities:

Perform wireless site surveys using Ekahau or similar wireless tools at State agency locations (training provided if needed).

Collect RF and coverage data, identify signal quality issues, and assess user density and application requirements.

Produce detailed survey reports including signal maps, interference analysis, and access point recommendations.

Coordinate closely with the Senior Engineer and State teams to share findings and adjust designs as needed.

Assist in on-site validation, testing, and troubleshooting during and post-deployment.Qualifications – Senior Wireless Engineer:

8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience with a strong focus on Cisco wireless technologies.

Expert-level knowledge of wireless protocols, RF fundamentals, and WLAN design principles.

Proven experience deploying Cisco wireless LAN controllers (WLC), APs, and related infrastructure.

Strong analytical and documentation skills; ability to lead large-scale wireless implementations.

Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CWNP, CCNP Wireless, CCIE Wireless).Qualifications – Junior Wireless Engineer:

2–4 years of experience in wireless networking and troubleshooting.

Familiarity with wireless survey tools (Ekahau preferred, training available).

Strong understanding of wireless technologies and concepts.

Ability to travel to agency sites across Colorado.

Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.
