American Veterinary Hospital is actively seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be a key player in supporting our veterinary staff and ensuring the best care for our animal patients. Your main responsibilities will include:

Duties

Assisting veterinarians and technicians during examinations and procedures

Feeding, bathing, and exercising patients as part of their care

Cleaning and maintaining examination rooms, equipment, and animal holding areas

Handling basic administrative tasks, such as updating medical records and preparing treatment rooms

Providing general care, such as nail trimming and ear cleaning

Ensuring the comfort and safety of pets and their owners

Helping with laboratory work, including sample collection and basic tests

Skills

A genuine love for animals and a passion for veterinary care

Experience in a veterinary setting is a plus, but not required

Basic understanding of animal behavior and care needs

Good communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members

Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a team environment

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Willingness to learn and adapt to various tasks and situations
