Job Description
We are seeking dedicated Maskers for first shift (6am-2:30pm) and second shift (2pm-10:30pm) at a large metal finishing facility in Costa Mesa, CA. The Masking operator plays a crucial role in sealing parts to be painted or dipped and provides constant support to the masking department. You will be responsible for completing the daily production schedule and ensuring optimal quality for all work completed.
Responsibilities
Inspect 100% in-process masking on all parts
Communicate directly with inspector/supervisor on First Article and masking concerns
Work directly with maskers on technical improvements and efficiency
Develop new masking techniques
Take pictures of new part numbers and send to customer for verification
Ensure good attendance and inform management of quality issues
Mask one piece for each incoming job into the department
Follow all safety policies and procedures
Perform receiving inspection, including count, visual inspection, and completion of previous operations
Maintain a clean and organized department dailyEssential Skills
Experience in inspection, masking, sealing, taping, and using measuring tools
Ability to handle both small and large parts
Strong communication skills to liaise with inspectors and supervisors
Ability to develop new masking techniques
Attention to detail and strong organizational skillsAdditional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in a similar role within a metal finishing facility
Technical proficiency with masking tools and techniques
Commitment to safety and quality standards
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $18.00/hr.
