The Field Lube Technician performs preventative maintenance and basic repairs on a wide range of heavy equipment and machinery. The role involves traveling to customer sites, conducting on-site inspections, servicing equipment, and maintaining accurate service records to ensure the safety, reliability, and productivity of all equipment.

Job Duties:

Perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on diesel engines and heavy equipment, including articulated trucks, compactors, dozers, excavators, motor graders, skid steers, telehandlers, tractors, wheel loaders, and other machinery.

Inspect heavy equipment, service trucks, and on-road trucks for condition, operation, and fluid levels, identifying and diagnosing issues.

Clean equipment using power washers as necessary.

Check, change, and fill appropriate fluids for all machine components, including engines, transmissions, differentials, hydraulics, final drives, pump drives, and hubs.

Grease, oil, and lubricate components during maintenance services.

Replace and maintain air, oil, coolant, and fuel filters.

Perform fluid analysis sampling to monitor equipment health.

Perform system adjustments during preventative maintenance services.

Inspect and verify the functionality of safety equipment on trucks and equipment.

Conduct daily Driving Vehicle Inspection Records (DVIR) at the start and end of each shift.

Maintain detailed service records in Fleeted or other systems, documenting parts usage, applied times, and services performed.

Accurately log and track work orders, ensuring time and resource accountability.

Travel to customer sites for scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs.

Safely drive service trucks and/or equipment in and out of repair areas.

Job Requirements:

Class A CDL required

3-5 years prior experience with heavy equipment maintenance and repair.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and team members.

Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions effectively.

Basic computer skills for arranging parts pick-ups and maintaining service records.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to lift parts and equipment components weighing up to 50 pounds;for heavier parts, assistance or equipment is required.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.

Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods and walking on uneven terrain.

Capability to travel locally and respond to after-hours service calls.

May be required to travel for overnight service calls.
