Capitol Supply and Service, a Style Crest company, is seeking an experienced and strategic Residential & Commercial HVAC Service Manager help build our residential and commercial HVAC programs. This position plays a vital role in managing daily operations, improving processes, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. You’ll be a key member of the Capitol senior management team, collaborating across departments to support service excellence and business growth.
For over 30 years, Capitol have been a trusted partner to the Manufactured Housing Industry, offering HVAC services, repairs, and refurbishments. Our mission is to deliver high-quality products, competitive pricing, and exceptional customer service, building a strong reputation in the process. With five Michigan locations, we provide comprehensive services, including furnace, air conditioner, water heater repairs, and HVAC installation.
Responsibilities
Lead, build, and scale residential and commercial HVAC service programs aligned with company growth goals.
Provide hands-on leadership to service technicians, coordinators, and field teams—setting expectations, mentoring, and driving accountability.
Oversee all daily service operations—including scheduling, dispatching, installations, and work order management to ensure timely and quality delivery.
Deliver a seamless customer experience from initial contact through service completion, ensuring responsiveness, professionalism, and accuracy.
Quote and manage jobs—provide accurate estimates, secure equipment, and track job performance from start to finish.
Develop and implement policies and procedures that improve operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with local codes.
Monitor and analyze service metrics—billing cycles, response times, job status—to identify trends and recommend improvements.
Act as a cross-functional leader, collaborating with sales, distribution, and purchasing to solve issues and meet customer needs.
Address and resolve code violations, coordinating with inspectors and ensuring all installations meet regulatory standards.
Support and coach team members—onboarding new hires, upskilling staff, and building a high-performing service culture.
Manage department financials, including P&L responsibility, budgeting, and performance reporting.
Champion customer retention and business growth, leveraging existing relationships and promoting the service department to expand our client base.
Contribute to executive leadership, participating in strategic planning as part of Capitol’s senior management team.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
10+ years in the HVAC service industry with at least 5 years in a leadership/management role.
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, installation, and service.
Excellent knowledge of mechanical and electrical codes and general code requirements.
Proven ability to train, mentor, and develop service technicians and coordinators.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a sharp attention to detail.
Proficient in service management software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet customer demands.
Ability to travel as needed.

This position primarily operates during standard business hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), but flexibility outside of these hours may be required to meet customer needs. The role is based out of our Flint office, with occasional travel as needed.
