POSTION SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for all related activities supporting the execution of operational services (warehousing, Keepstock, onsite, customer specific) within an assigned market. Manages and executes operational activities focused on driving high customer satisfaction. Leads service activities to be viewed as the customer’s first choice by managing VMI, vending, warehousing, and delivery services. Builds solid internal and external partnerships supporting best practice to meet or exceed customer commitments and/or expectations.
Under the direction, specific duties include:
Responsible for the execution of warehouse and delivery related activities for specific E&R branch or branches.
Provides leadership and guidance to a staff comprised of hourly team members covering warehouse, driver, bin-fill, and on-site roles.
Understand local market requirements and plans/schedules work to meet the commitment and expectation of customers.
Oversee the management of branch-based inventory including process to validate inventory accuracy and disposition of inventory in accordance with company plans and policies.
Collaborate with the inventory management function ensuring local inventory levels are adjusted based on customer requirements and demand.
Ensure compliance with OSHA. DOT, EPA regulations and requirements including the handling of HAZMAT.
Creates an environment that encourages open, continuous, and proactive communication that promotes a culture that values diverse thoughts and ideas.
Oversees building maintenance and interacts with contractors when applicable
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
College degree or similar work experience
Prior experience leading a team required
3 – 5 years previous leadership experience preferred
Logistics experience preferred
Previous experience in continuous improvement and the use of LEAN, DMAIC, Six Sigma tools and programs.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Computer knowledge- Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
Able to operate powered industrial equipment
Experience working with production, financial or other statistical data to analyze performance and results.
Continuous improvement (use of LEAN, DMAIC, Six Sigma tools and programs).
Ability to attract, retain, motivate, develop and recognize a team
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work conditions are like typical Distribution/Warehousing Centers
Ability to lift 25 to 60 lbs. unassisted and heavier loads with assistance
Occasionally work in difficult positions
Travel is required (– 20%) to various regional customer sites and branch locations (minimal overnight travel may be required occasionally)
Responsible for company vehicle(s), vending equipment functionality, and warehouse powered equipment
