SUMMARY:

The CNC programmer must be able to read and understand blueprints, sketches, and CAD models. Using CAM software, the programmer will work with the machine shop to select optimal cutting methodologies and associated tooling to support final part creation. The selected candidate will work side by side with Engineering and Machinist personnel to assure conforming hardware is being produced. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

NoneDUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program milling machines utilizing MasterCam 2022, verifying conformance of generated toolpaths with drawing requirements, designing/creating custom fixtures/jaws, and interfacing with shop floor operators.

Must be able to work from engineering drawings/CAD files, customer blueprints and specifications in both metal and composite materials.

Be able to edit legacy programs and verify effectivity of changes.

Uses standard operating procedures to generate, modify, transfer/load, and archive verified programs to maintain traceability.

Must be familiar with all standard machine shop processes and procedures as well as a wide variety of precision measuring instruments.

Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.

First article verification of dimensions in finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.

Confer with supervisors or managers to resolve machine malfunctions or production non-conformances prior to obtaining approval to resume production.

Maintain open dialogue and positive relationship with machine shop floor staff.

Diagnose and rectify tooling problems.

Employee may be required to work overtime. REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES:

Substantial MasterCam programming experience

Operate Multi Axis Haas CNC equipment

Knowledge of Quality Management systems AS9100

GD&T experience

Current or active security clearance is a plus

Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a clearance.

Prototype experience is a plus

Composite machining is a plus

Must bring your own tools

Knowledge of shop mathematics, of complicated/detailed drawings, specifications, formulas and a wide variety of precision measuring instruments together with a broad knowledge of applications.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 10 years’ experience

Ability to read, speak and write in English.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: [MR1]

Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs, minimum 35 lbs. [MR2]

Constant standing/walking for at least 8 hours.

Prolonged periods of repetitive movement are required.

Constant holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand(s).

Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.

The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms).

Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less. Corrective lenses may be worn to fulfill requirement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position operates in a warehouse/shop/manufacturing environment
