Job Title: CNC Applications Tech
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Applications Engineer with a strong background in Swiss-style CNC machining. This role involves developing CNC programs, setting up machines, optimizing machining processes, and ensuring high-quality part production. The Applications Engineer will also assist with customer training, time studies, and turnkey solutions while collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize CNC programs for Swiss-style lathes.
Perform machine setups, including tooling selection, workholding, and fixture preparation.
Conduct test cuts, part processing evaluations, and cycle time optimization.
Provide technical support and training to customers on machine operation and programming.
Analyze part drawings and determine the most efficient machining methods.
Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to improve process efficiency.
Utilize CAM software, G-code, and macro programming to enhance machining performance.
Inspect machined parts to ensure they meet quality and accuracy standards.
Collaborate with engineering, sales, and service teams to support customer needs.
Maintain technical documentation, reports, and process improvement records.
Qualifications:
Swiss CNC machining experience is required.
2+ years of experience in CNC programming, setup, and process optimization.
Strong knowledge of metal cutting, tooling, and part processing techniques.
Familiarity with CAM software and conversational programming.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication skills for customer and team interactions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Willingness to travel occasionally for training and customer support.
