Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Healthcare Business Systems Analyst to lead the analysis, design, and delivery of technology solutions across clinical, operational, and administrative domains. With over 10 years of experience in healthcare IT, the ideal candidate will bring deep domain knowledge, a strategic mindset, and the ability to navigate complex systems and stakeholder environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead requirements gathering, process mapping, and gap analysis for complex healthcare initiatives involving EMRs, claims systems, care coordination, or population health platforms.
Act as the primary liaison between business units and technical teams, translating business goals into detailed functional and technical specifications.
Guide cross-functional teams through full project life cycles (SDLC/Agile/Hybrid), ensuring alignment between healthcare operations, compliance, and IT strategy.
Drive stakeholder engagement across clinical, operational, and administrative departments, including physicians, billing teams, compliance officers, and IT leadership.
Evaluate and improve existing workflows, data integrations (HL7/FHIR/X12), and system usability to support better patient and provider experiences.
Lead user acceptance testing (UAT), develop test scripts, and validate functionality prior to go-live.
Support data governance, reporting initiatives, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, HITECH, CMS, NCQA, etc.).
Mentor junior analysts and contribute to standardization of analysis practices across the organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
10+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in healthcare (payer, provider, or healthtech environments).
Strong expertise in EHR/EMR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and/or payer systems (e.g., Facets, QNXT, HealthEdge).
Solid understanding of healthcare data standards: HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, CPT, X12 (837, 835), and HIPAA compliance.
Proven track record leading enterprise-level healthcare IT projects (e.g., system upgrades, integrations, migrations, or regulatory implementations).
Proficiency with analysis and documentation tools: Jira, Confluence, Visio, Excel, SQL.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organization.
