Q Center is looking for a Human Resources Manager to join our team!

Job Summary

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for assisting with and directing the day-to-day activities of the Human Resources (HR) department including recruiting, hiring, orientation, training, employee relations, and enforcing Q Center policies and procedures.

This position is on-site, with a schedule that may include evenings and weekends, generally a 45 hour workweek.

Starting rate for this position is $60,000/year.

Education & Experience

At least 3 years of experience in Human Resources in a hotel or a related industry preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.

Knowledge of HRIS and ATS systems.

Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Excel and PowerPoint.

Fluency in both Spanish and English preferred.

Physical Requirements

This position is on-site, with a schedule that may include evenings and weekends, generally a 45 hour workweek.

Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 100 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Fundamental Requirements

Associate must, at all times, be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests and fellow associates.

Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, associates, and other departments.

Oversee and manage the daily operations of department and associates.

Uphold quality standards and maximizing levels of associate and guest satisfaction.

Define and implement department objectives and standard operating procedures.

Develop labor schedules to align with operation needs ensuring guest and client satisfaction; make changes for-the-week, in-the-week as business changes occur and effectively communicate changes timely and appropriately.

Interview candidates for open department positions and follow standards for hiring approvals.

Conduct departmental training, departmental meetings developing associate morale and skills.

Motivate, coach and counsel all department personnel according to Q Center Policy.

Conduct associate performance reviews in accordance with Q Center standards.

Ensure training and compliance of all associates on Standard Operating Procedures, Q Center policies, technical tasks and risk management is achieved.

Operate all aspects of the department computer system, including software maintenance, report generation and analysis, and simple programming.

Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring their attention.

Respond to all associate and guest requests, problems, complaints and/or accidents presented through various channels, in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner; follow up to ensure guest and associate satisfaction.

Review, track and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education; including safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and certifications.

Manage the talent acquisition process, including sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Develop and implement strategies for retention and career development.

Responsible for opening and closing employment requisitions promptly within the ATS.

Assist with investigations and resolution of associate issues, concerns and conflicts.

Conduct or acquire background checks, drug screens and employment verifications.

Upload signed and acknowledged job descriptions; maintain accurate records for an transfer/promotions.

Assess associate eligibility verifications utilizing eVerify.

Support associates with transfer requests and procedures.

Assist with maintaining personnel and confidential files ensuring upkeep of all associate records and files.

Maintain and update HRIS database records and onboarding process along with paperwork for new hires, terminations and other status changes as documented on Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) as needed.

Compile HRIS reports as needed.

Design, develop and implement training programs that enhance associate skills, service quality, and operational efficiency in the hospitality industry. Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through assessments and feedback.

Organize workshops, seminars and coaching sessions to enhance associate engagement and professional growth.

Coordinate with department leaders to identify training needs through associate and manager feedback and industry trends to develop targeted learning initiatives.

Develop and facilitate leadership and career development programs to prepare associates for career advancement, including the mentorship program.

Develop and conduct new hire orientation and onboarding programs to ensure a smooth integration into company culture and policies, including associate recognition programs.

Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs, including but not limited to, leaves of absence, ADA accommodations, Workers Compensation, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, recognition and morale, and training and development.

Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, associates and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations and recommend best practices.

Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.

Serve as a point of contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.

Continuously evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

Partner with local universities, culinary schools, and professional associations to establish a pipeline of talent.

Provide excellent service and support to associates.

Design and distribute materials for communication to enhance understanding of the company’s HR processes regarding associate recognition.

Ensure overall associate and guest satisfaction and safety.
