Operating machines that are used to apply and develop a solder resist, which is a protective coating on printed circuit boards (PCBs). These coatings protect parts of the board during soldering and help ensure the circuit works as designed. Since this is a chemical process, you're working with chemicals, temperature controls, and vacuum pressure systems, so safety and precision are super important.
Key Tasks You'll Do Machine Operation: You'll set up, adjust, and run either a printer or a developer (or both), which apply and process the solder resist.
Safety & Chemical Handling: You'll need to follow safe chemical handling procedures.
You'll also help maintain the proper chemical balance by adding chemicals or changing out the bath when needed.
Product Inspection: You'll regularly inspect the boards — by eye and with gauges — to make sure everything's lining up right and the quality is solid.
Preventive Maintenance: You’ll do basic maintenance on your machines to keep them running smoothly.
Monitoring: Keep an eye on machine pressures, temperatures, and chemical levels. If something’s off, you let the lab folks know.
Keep your workspace clean and organized.
Skills You’ll Need Comfortable with basic math (fractions, decimals, etc.) Able to read technical documents and safety rules.
Basic computer knowledge for data entry or machine interfaces.
Strong attention to detail, ability to work with a team, and adapt to changes in work or priorities.
