Must be able to travel to Clifton Forge, VA to pick up a laptop.
Must be willing to attend in-person staff meetings in Clifton Forge once every 45–60 days.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Windows Server/Desktop Systems Administrator (SME) to join our team in a mission-critical role supporting our enterprise IT infrastructure. This position is a replacement role responsible for the administration, tuning, and ongoing support of over 150 computer servers hosted in Microsoft Azure and 250 Windows desktops. This is not a helpdesk role, but a strategic technical position requiring deep expertise in Windows systems, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
The ideal candidate will also have experience supporting Microsoft 365 E5 environments and Rubrik backup solutions. Familiarity with the tolling industry is required. The selected candidate will be added to a monthly on-call rotation (1 week/month).
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Windows Server/Desktop infrastructure.
Administer and support 150+ compute servers hosted in Azure IaaS.
Manage and configure Group Policy and Active Directory for 250+ desktops.
Ensure systems are secure, compliant, and optimized for performance.
Support and enhance the Microsoft 365 E5 environment.
Maintain and support the Rubrik backup solution.
Participate in and contribute to strategic IT planning, hardening, and tuning of systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and application issues.
Participate in an on-call rotation (one week per month).
Required Qualifications:
Proven expertise with Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop operating systems.
Strong experience with Active Directory and Group Policy in enterprise environments.
Solid experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS) and Microsoft 365 E5 administration.
Familiarity with Rubrik or similar enterprise backup solutions.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working in or with the tolling industry (required).
Must have a functional webcam and be available for Microsoft Teams interviews.
Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, Azure Administrator, etc.).
Experience in IT systems hardening and compliance auditing.
Familiarity with ITIL practices or structured change management processes.
