Job Summary

To assist the institution’s delivery and promotion of the use of information technologies, to provide computer related assistance to students; staff, and faculty; to maintain computer hardware and software; and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to the area of assignment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist students, faculty, and staff with computer related hardware and software problems. Provide level 1 support to troubleshoot and repair these problems.

2. Manage intake for the department through the ticketing system, department extension, email inbox, and other official communication channels. Take ownership of the tickets or assign them to the appropriate member of the IT Department.

3. Maintain operational condition of all end user computer hardware, software, and peripherals including general maintenance and repairs, external cleaning, hard-disk maintenance, and requesting additional servicing.

4. Maintain and provide level 1 support to audio/video systems in classrooms, meeting rooms, and online meetings and classes.

5. Ensure that the computer lab assistant station is staffed during normal institution hours.

6. Participate in ongoing professional development and training.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Prefer to be in an Information Technology field of study program.
