Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon Opportunity in Portsmouth, VA
Join a well-established healthcare facility in Portsmouth, Virginia, offering an exciting opportunity for a Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon. This facility provides a comprehensive surgical practice encompassing office, hospital settings, and operating room responsibilities. Ideal candidates should embrace the blend of clinical and surgical duties, including taking 24-hour call shifts. The preferred option for the position includes a transition from locum to permanent placement. Job Responsibilities:
Perform Aortic Surgery Procedures, including Descending Aortic Aneurysms.
Conduct Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (CABG) and related procedures.
Execute Thoracic Endoscopy Procedures, including flexible and rigid bronchoscopy.
Manage Vascular Surgery procedures, including heart valve repairs and replacements.
Provide patient care and follow-up in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Qualifications:
Board Certification from the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (REQUIRED).
Active Virginia medical license and DEA (REQUIRED, no exceptions).
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (REQUIRED).
Completion of Fellowship Training in Cardiothoracic Surgery (REQUIRED).
Available for full coverage on stipulated July dates; case logs must be submitted. License and Certification Requirements:
Active Virginia Medical License (REQUIRED).
DEA Registration (REQUIRED).
BLS and ACLS Certifications (REQUIRED).
Board Certification in Thoracic Surgery (REQUIRED).
