Description:
This position reports to the Plant Maintenance Manager and is responsible for moderately complex engineering projects and directing the work of assigned technical associates to promote increased performance and reliability of machinery and equipment through failure analysis.
Provide visible and active leadership in delivering excellent safety results. Safety Certification in company system required.
Work with operations and maintenance teams to implement strategic maintenance initiatives that support achievement of reliability objectives, key performance metrics, and maintenance cost objectives, and capital projects execution.
Drive continuous improvement through positive influence, company best practices, FMEA, and RCFA.
Responsible for all aspects of project management: scope development, estimating, planning, design, prioritization, scheduling, implementation/construction management, and budget management.
Responsible for process variability reduction and equipment reliability improvements.
RCFA facilitation by leading a group to quickly and thoroughly identify and solve latent causes.
Responsible for ensuring projects are compliant with all environmental and safety requirements.
Provides electrical and instrumentation (E&I) design support to the Maintenance Department including capital projects.
Provides technical assistance and advice as necessary to aid in troubleshooting complex issues in manufacturing processes.
Support the Electrical Power Distribution system and Motor Champion programs.
Support the planning effort and execution of Plant shutdowns to include: complex job planning, job coordination, resource planning, and financial management.
Monitor effectiveness of E&I predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
Support Maintenance training processes in alignment with GMTI to ensure highly skilled team members.
Build effective systems and materials such as operating procedures (SOP), troubleshooting documents (TCC), and other training materials.
Complete technical process evaluations and improvements.
Seek out and implement best practices using teams, databases, vendors, and other technical resources.
Serve as a contractor coordinator (IPCC) as required.
Participate in the 5S program, including leading 5S improvement projects as needed.
Participate in cost reduction program idea and implementation process.
Provide support for capital project development and implementation.
Rotate with other leaders to provide Weekend Duty leadership.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment
Minimum of three (3) years’ mechanical engineering experience
Power Distribution and/or Control Systems (i.e., Siemens, Rockwell, Emerson) required
Strong computer skills including proficiency with AutoCAD and all Microsoft Office applications
Experience in the pulp and paper industry is

Strong technical foundation in electrical engineering
High level of initiative and motivation
Strong communication skills (oral & written)
Able to work independently and excel with minimum supervision
