Sr Cloud Architect

Position Overview: The client is seeking highly skilled Senior Cloud rchitect to join our IT Cloud rchitecture team. This individual will play crucial role in the department's ongoing migration to mazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft zure while supporting the integration of cutting-edge Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. The Senior Cloud Architect will not be leading the cloud migration but will actively participate in architectural design and implementation efforts, ensuring seamless integration of cloud and on-premises environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cloud migration teams to design, implement, nd optimize WS nd zure

solutions for MassDOT's infrastructure nd enterprise pplications.

• Participate in the integration of IoT/ITS technologies with WS and on-premises systems, contributing to the department's Intelligent Transportation Management initiatives.

• Provide rchitectural designs for hybrid environments to support transportation management systems, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

• ssist with the documentation of logical nd physical designs following MassDOT policies, standards, and patterns.

• Support ongoing efforts to modernize on-premises systems, with focus on effective dat flow and system integration between transportation management and cloud-based services.

• Participate in design reviews, cloud roadmap discussions, nd project planning efforts with cross-functional teams.

• ssist in drafting technical requirements nd ensuring dherence to MassDOT's cloud governance and security policies.

• Conduct performance nalysis nd capacity planning to ensure that the cloud environments re appropriately configured and optimized.

• Collaborate with vendors nd internal teams on product selection, integrations, nd deployments, particularly in relation to IoT/ITS solutions.

• Stay informed bout the latest in cloud, IoT, nd ITS technologies to bring innovative ideas to

MassDOT's infrastructure.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & bilities:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in infrastructure delivery nd support, with significant exposure to cloud architecture.

• Demonstrated experience with WS nd zure, including cloud-native pplication development, application migration, and hybrid environments.

• Solid experience integrating IoT/ITS technologies, particularly in transportation or government setting, is highly desirable.

• Strong understanding of networking, cloud security, disaster recovery, nd dat management in hybrid cloud environments.

• Proficiency in scripting nd utomation using Python, PowerShell, or other similar languages.

• Familiarity with transportation management technologies nd protocols (ITS standards, transportation signal controllers, etc.).

• Experience working in gile project environments, with the bility to diagram nd present cloud rchitectures.

• Proficient in utilizing GitHub nd GitHub ctions for efficient code management, utomation, and deployment processes.

• Experience in implementing Infrastructure s Code (IaC) pipeline deployment strategies using Terraform.

• Strong written nd verbal communication skills, including the bility to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree or substantial career experience in Information Technology, Computer

Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.

• WS Cloud Certification (AWS Certified Solutions rchitect - ssociate or Professional) preferred.
